Gordon Wayne Nall, 83, of Jackson, MO, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born February 8, 1943, at East Prairie, MO, to the late George Andrew “Dutch” Nall and Nannie Lucille Noblin Nall, he was 1961 graduate of Charleston High School. Following his high school graduation, Gordon enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until his honorable discharge in 1965. He returned to Mississippi County and was employed for several years as an embalmer and funeral director with McMikle Funeral Homes in Charleston and East Prairie. He was employed at Noranda Aluminum in Marston, MO where he remained for over 25 years until his retirement. After he and his wife Mary Beth retired, they moved to Jackson to be near their daughter. Gordon was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
On April 16, 1966, he married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Grisso, who preceded him in death May 14, 2015.
Surviving is his daughter, Angie (Scott) Vaugier, of Jackson, his grandchildren, Chai, Addison and Braden; his sister, Marilyn Nall DePriest, his brothers, Billy Joe Nall and George Anthony Nall, as well as his nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gordon Wayne Nall II, his brothers, Corporal Gary Allen Nall and Edward Cleo Nall and his sister, Patricia Nall Garth.
There is no visitation.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Old St. Vincent Catholic Church, 131 S. Main Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703. Father Randy Tochtrop, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, will serve as celebrant.
Interment with full military honors will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, MO.
