Phillip Daniel Blackman, age 71, died Friday, July 12, 2024, at his home near the Dogwood Community.

Born January 6, 1953, at Cape Girardeau, to the late James Albert "Jim" Blackman and Daisy Blanche Maxwell Blackman, he had lived in the Dogwood area his entire life and was a 1971 graduate of East Prairie High School.   Phil farmed most of his life until his retirement and was a member of the Dogwood United Methodist Church and a past member of the Dogwood Cemetery board.  Phil loved to play music and was so proud to share that gift with his granddaughter Lauren.

Surviving is his daughter, Ashley Danielle Blackman; his granddaughter, Lauren Danielle (Quan) Magee; great grandchildren, Zayne, Kai and Zaydien; and a number of cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Maxwell Blackman and Randall Lee Blackman.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  George White of East Prairie will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Maxwell, Gary Miller, Len O'Connor, Earl Bryant, Hoyt Carter, Kenneth Dalton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Quan Dodd, Milas Mainord, Gene Thresher, Mike Haas, John Haas, Thony Childers, Jerry Maxwell and Bobby Kestner.
