Tony Edward Trousdale, age 87, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bertrand, MO.

Tony was born March 11, 1937, in Cairo, Illinois to the late Lucille (Crews) and Samuel Trousdale. Tony proudly served 4 years in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged as a Chief Petty Officer in 1961.

On September 11, 1959, Tony married Barbara Linebaugh, who survives of the home.

Tony and Barbara built their post-Navy life in Charleston. He enjoyed many employment opportunities in the area, including working at Brown Shoe to being a dispatcher, firefighter, EMT and Charleston police officer, to taking photographs for the Enterprise Courier, being a maintenance supervisor for the housing authority and, most of all, the owner of a small business - Second Chance consignment store. He also found great pleasure working with the Nutrition Center, serving as president of the board for several years.

Tony is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara, his daughter Tonya (Mark) Runnels of Overland Park, KS; his son Thad (Barbara) Trousdale of Shawnee, KS; two grandchildren, Bryan Runnels of Overland Park, KS and Erin Runnels of Prairie Village, KS;  and one great-granddaughter Finlee Peters of Prairie Village, KS. Tony is survived by two brothers, Ray Parker of Charleston and Scott Crews of Cape Girardeau.

Tony's family would like to share special appreciation to the Bertrand Nursing home which became an extended family to Tony. Their love and support was a source of comfort.

A memorial service for family and caregivers will be at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, at Bertrand, MO, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024.  Rev, Dean Wallace will officiate.
